Duskwing
“Duskwing” has arrived for all adventurers.
While there have been mounts like the sky baloons or Griffons that move along designated airborne routes, Duskwing holds special significance as it allows adventurers to soar freely through the skies of the Black Desert world.
Though Duskwing lacks offensive capabilities and isn’t particularly fast, it offers a delightful opportunity for adventurers who have always wanted to fly across the vast Black Desert world or experience familiar landscapes from a new perspective. We hope it brings a refreshing and pleasant breeze to your adventures. Thank you to all the adventurers who have been waiting.
- Added the event quest to mount up atop the Dragon, Duskwing.
- This quest can be accepted up until the Feb 27 (Thu) maintenance.

New Additions and Improvements
Class Changes
Common
Emergency Escape was originally designed as a last resort for characters to survive in dire situations. Since then, quite a bit of time has passed. While the skill itself hasn’t undergone significant changes, we’ve noticed that as adventurers have become more skilled in handling their characters and as character movement performance has improved, the effectiveness of Emergency Escape isn’t quite what it used to be.
With this update, we’ve enhanced the skill to better serve as a last resort for survival. However, please note that the movement speed during Emergency Escape has been reduced compared to before to discourage its use for offensive purposes. We hope you enjoy the thrill of split-second combat with the improved Emergency Escape.
Emergency Escape
- Changed the skill as follows.
- The Invincibility buff will be applied even when your character reappears after the skill’s effect ends.
- Movement speed during the skill has been reduced accordingly.
- Movement speed during the skill has been reduced accordingly.
- Improved so you can press SPACE to jump to higher terrain during the skill.
- If you fall while moving to higher terrain, you may die from fall damage.
- If you fall while moving to higher terrain, you may die from fall damage.
- Any active debuffs such as bleeding and pain damage will continue to damage your character during the skill.
- Reduced your Stamina recovery speed during the skill.
- Changed so your character will no longer recover Stamina even during motions after reappearing.
- The Invincibility buff will be applied even when your character reappears after the skill’s effect ends.
- Fixed the issue where you could combo into other skills once the skill ended while airborne.
Combat in Black Desert is characterized by comboing a variety of skills while directly targeting monsters or opponents. However, some rookie adventurers find this combat style somewhat challenging. To help them adapt more comfortably, we offer a feature called Combat Assistance.
Unfortunately, this feature has sometimes been used in ways that deviate from its original intent, causing misunderstandings among adventurers in certain monster zones or being used in violation of operational policy. To ensure the Combat Assistance feature is used as intended, we’ve added a usage restriction based on the total level of characters within a Family.
Additionally, we’ve made changes to certain skills that could be used during cooldown when combined with the Combat Assistance feature, which might have contributed to the aforementioned issues. When these skills are repeatedly used during cooldown, damage may be reduced, or skill effects may not apply.
Conversely, in the typical PvE style of chaining multiple skills, you should notice an increase in power, as we’ve generally adjusted the damage of other skills upward.
These changes are not only a response to temporary issues but are also deemed necessary from a long-term perspective. We’ll continue to closely monitor the classes affected by this update to see if further improvements are needed.
Combat Assistance Function
- Adjusted the function as follows.
- Regardless of whether the function is set, Combat Assistance can only be used if the total Family Level does not exceed 200.
- Added a notification related to the total Family Level to appear when setting up Combat Assistance.
- Regardless of whether the function is set, Combat Assistance can only be used if the total Family Level does not exceed 200.
We’ve been working on increasing the damage output for certain classes in PvE. After exploring various approaches, we’ve decided to focus on enhancing the damage of each class’s main skills. Previously, we applied a general increase to all skills, which sometimes led to dissatisfaction as non-main skills were also boosted. This time, after thorough testing, we’ve aimed to enhance the PvE damage of main skills to increase the enjoyment of gameplay. We’re also planning additional adjustments in PvP, but these will take a different direction. These changes are being considered for implementation after the current Arena of Solare regular season, so please stay tuned.

Oceanteared Ebenruth’s Nol
The treasure of the Great Ocean, “Ebenruth’s Nol,” was traditionally used by equipping it directly onto ships, unlike other treasures. However, it shared the same gear slot as the Sea Crystal, meaning you couldn’t equip both simultaneously, which was a downside. With the recent update, following the addition of the “Rusalka Sea Crystal,” you can now process them together to craft the “Oceanteared Ebenruth’s Nol.” This allows you to benefit from the effects of both the Sea Crystal and Ebenruth’s Nol at the same time.
Moreover, while Ebenruth’s Nol enabled swift navigation across the ocean, it did incur a regular repair cost. The latest update addresses this by ensuring it no longer consumes durability, so captains no longer need to worry about maintenance costs.
- Added Oceanteared Ebenruth’s Nol.
- ‘By Manufacturing (L) Ebenruth’s Nol and Rusalka Sea Crystal together, you can craft Oceanteared Ebenruth’s Nol.

Blue Grade Carrack Gear on the Central Market
As previously mentioned in the Black Desert Global Lab update notice, blue grade equipment for Epheria Carracks will soon be available for registration on the Central Market.
This update aims to provide long-term benefits to adventurers who consistently enjoy the Great Ocean, while also making it more accessible to a broader audience of adventurers.
However, despite recognizing the significant effort required to craft Carrack equipment, it seems we have not adequately considered those who have already put in the effort. Therefore, similar to the previous Odore’s Spirit Essence, we plan to award a special title to those who already possess blue grade equipment.
If you own at least one piece of the blue grade equipment, you will receive the [Ocean Pioneer] title. If you own four or more, you will be awarded the permanent Yellow title, [Captain], which is the most recognized title for adventurers who enjoy Sailing.
(For adventurers who are currently crafting or partially own the equipment, titles will be awarded based on the update applied on Feb 27.)
We understand this may not fully compensate those who have worked hard to crafted their equipment, but we kindly ask for your understanding. We will strive to ensure that Captains can enjoy the Great Ocean even more.
- After the Feb 27 (Thu) maintenance, you’ll be able to list blue grade Epheria Carrack gear on the Central Market.
